Loren's inspiration: "This painting idea is the result of an expression that I've heard cowboys use about their horses or dogs, 'they are rock solid.' I began looking for a setting that would convey this meaning. It wasn't an easy choice because where I live there are so many beautiful sandstone cliffs to choose from. This setting is in the Bull Mountains of Montana."
